At the time of this writing, things are really heating up in our local real estate market. Personally, I have experienced much more activity on both the Buyers side, and the Sellers side. This means a few things to you, the prospective home buyer/seller:
To the Buyer: Trends indicate that inventory is shrinking across the board. We, in the North Country, are typically about a year behind the rest of the country (go figure…) and we are already seeing limitations on new inventory coming up. Now is the time to get pre-approved & locked in on still very favorable interest rates, and buy the property you’ve been searching for – even investment properties – while they’re still affordable, and available!
To the Seller: With saleable listing inventory shrinking, there couldn’t be a better time to position your competitively priced home in the marketplace. With fewer homes to choose from, this drives prices up slightly. If you’ve been on the fence, it’s time to take a second look. Take advantage of the fact that interest rates are lower, which helps to create more potential Buyers, and will in turn help you when you become a Buyer yourself.
